I very much enjoyed being a co-teacher in the classroom with Desiree. When it comes to childcare, as with animals, or the elderly, you have to encompass certain qualities to be a great and committed teacher. These include empathy, openness, clarity, kindness, understanding, sympathy, and attention.  Desiree is a genuine caretaker who sometimes thought she wasn't doing enough as a teacher. That is what made her great. She was already great, and was always trying to do better. She was calm, driven, caring, creative, trusting, reliable, and best of all, loving.  I enjoyed working side by side with her, and tackling the classroom together.
